MNCFF About Us Page

The Mid North Coast Farm Foresters (Inc.) are landowners resident or operating in the NSW Mid North Coast who have an interest in the practice of Farm Forestry - an activity simply defined as the commitment of resources by farmers towards the establishment and management of forests on their land. The body aims to provide a range of services to its members in the fields of education and training, research and development and all areas necessary to facilitate the members' participation in profitable Farm Forestry.

Environmental concerns are addressed through formal planning and plantings, compliance with best practice harvesting and involvement with the establishment of forestry certification schemes, to ensure biodiversity, to secure beneficial outcomes for wildlife and to address existing and potential landscape problems. Many of our members establish or manage their forests principally for environmental purposes including enhancement of biodiversity.

Community benefits will result from the creation of work opportunities directly within the Forestry field, as well as downstream, in conversion and production facilities. The creation of a "timber ethic" in the region, with an increasingly skills-based community, will form the foundation for the network and for larger industry when new plantations achieve harvestable status.
